The progressive web app feature was first introduced to us at the 2023 Swoogo Uncon Conference. We thought that it was just the coolest thing since sliced bread so we decided to bring it to life at the 2023 CTDA Edmonton Convention.

But what really is it? What it's not is an app. There is nothing that you need to download or purchase from an app store. Guests simply scan a QR code with their phone and are taken directly to the information they need. It's built the same way as any other Swoogo webpage, except that it is optimized for mobile use - this means that if it was opened on a desktop, guests would not have the same experience. Once guests have scanned the QR code they are able to follow just a few easy steps to save it on their homepage, this is what makes it look like an app. Although not necessary, it does make it easy to find and navigate back when needed.
